Hiking around Maria Alm
A paradise for your hiking holiday! Hiking in the Maria Alm Region or Saalfelden-Leogang - the dreamlike peaks of the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig and the Leoganger Steinberge set the stage. Every day, you can discover the one-of-a-kind flora and fauna when hiking and mountain climbing. The beautiful Alpine lodges will spoil you with the best Pinzgau specialities during your day of hiking. Lace up your hiking boots and prepare yourself for the most beautiful places and peaks that the Maria Alm & Saalfelden-Leogang regions have to offer. The possibilities range from walks in the valley, to leisurely alpine hikes to high-alpine mountain tours. For a leisurely family hike, we recommend a trip to the natural monument Triefen Waterfall in Hinterthal and on towards the Mußbachalm. A particularly beautiful hike leads from our Gasthof Hinterreit up to the 2011 metre-high Schwalbenwand. Very fit hikers can then continue over a high trail to the Hundstein and will be rewarded for their efforts with one-of-a-kind views of the surrounding Alps. A real challenge for all long-distance hikers is the “Königsweg”. Over 74 km, the trail passes through valleys, villages and through still intact nature, which will leave you with many striking impressions.
